The game was called off on Friday afternoon with a heavy downpour leaving the Roughfort pitch waterlogged.

Carrick had been hoping to bounce back from the recent defeat to Limavady, while Academy, currently occupying third spot in the table, could have leapfrogged Omagh with a win.

The two teams now have to wait until March 1 for their next competitive league outing, with Carrick hosting Enniskillen and Academy away to Lisburn.

Meanwhile, Larne’s Gordon West quarter-final clash with PSNI also fell foul of the weather.

The pitches at Glynn were saturated and the decision was taken to postpone the tie.

A spokesman for the club said the aim is to have the match rescheduled for this weekend.

Larne’s Thirds are in action on Saturday, away to Rainey.
